Bill D’Agostino is a playwright who specializes in writing for young people. His plays have appeared on stages in Pennsylvania, New York, California, and Virginia.
His plays for young audiences include the five Murray the Elf mysteries, My Very Own Polar Bear, Sleeping Handsome (Act II), Teen Sherlock, Fairy Tale High School, and Robin Hood (Montgomery Theater in Souderton, PA), and Making Gnocchi with Grandma, which was named a semifinalist in the 2015 Write Now competition and received a reading at the Indiana Repertory Theatre.
In addition, Bill was the producer of The White Mountains, a theatre project based on the industrial legacy of Ambler, Pennsylvania. The White Mountains - a collaboration between Act II, the Chemical Heritage Foundation, and the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine - received a 2015 Philadelphia Geek Award.
Plays for grown-ups include Kindling Spirits, which received a staged reading at the Philadelphia Theatre Company; Disclosure, which premiered as part of #CocktailPlays in the 2017 Philadelphia Fringe Festival; and The Fig Tree.
Bill is the Communications and Education Director for Act II Playhouse. He received his MA in Theatre from Villanova University, and his bachelor’s degree in theatre from Brown University. He is a graduate of The Foundry, a development lab for emerging Philadelphia playwrights.
